HELLO BLOGLAND do you remember me???  Today I am linking up with one of my favorite linky parties Five for Friday hosted by Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching.

Since I haven't posted since December (yikes that's crazy) I'm going to put a little twist on my five pictures this week. So here are five things that make me happy this year.

1.  QR codes ~ I learned how to make these last summer when I was teaching a summer workshop with one of my good friends and I have been obsessed ever since then.  Whole group, small group, center time you name it and you can use a QR code with it.

2. Math Time ~ My kids this year are really good at math and I think it's because of the way I have incorporated morning math meeting and math partners into my math block. Total sidenote thanks to instagram for introducing me to the blue plates in the picture. . . they are perfect dry erase boards.

3.  Teamwork ~ Every year I work REALLY hard at the beginning of the year to create a classroom environment that is supportive, nurturing and caring.  This hard work at the beginning has really paid off with my class this year.  They are so great at working together and it really helps to make my job easier.

4.  Parental Support ~ For safety reasons this year our school changed our arrival and dismissal procedures so I don't get a chance to interact one-on-one with my parents as much as I have in the past but let me tell you they are there supporting me.  Backpacks, folders, homework assignments, book bags, forms, permission slips, box tops all for the most part, get returned when they are suppose to be.  I teach at a Title One school so I try not to ask for too much from my parents but when I do this is what I get, over 200 pre-filled eggs for our Easter egg math activity. . . see what I mean, they ROCK!!!

5.  My Friends ~ I cannot say enough about the friends that I have in my life. Here are just some of the people who have helped me keep my sanity over the years. One of my favorite quotes is from Oprah where she says to "Surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher." I am blessed to have so many of these types of friends in my life.

So there you have it, five things that make me happy.  I plan on doing some blog posts specifically on some of these things so stay tuned.  Well I'm off to check my Instagram feed.
SHINE on everyone!
WOW. . . seriously, my last blog post started out with the sentence "Happy Labor Day!!!" I can't believe that it has been that long since I've posted.  I know that things have been crazy busy for me since school started but Labor Day. . . REALLY??!!  Well it is definitely time for me to get back in the swing of things and what better way to jump back into blogging than by linking up with the super sweet Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday linky party.
Since I've been MIA I'm going to double the pleasure double the fun by posting 10 pictures.  As always I'm going to rock this party the way Michelle would. . . I'm gonna roll these pictures out ~ hashtag style.

I know, I know, I know I have been living in the land of summer vacation people and my poor little blog has been sooooooo sadly neglected but I am back.  Now that summer is coming to an end it's time for me to say  THANK YOU.  Thank you blogland and the magical word of Instagram for all of the great ideas for my classroom.  I am so grateful for all of the great new connections that I've made this summer.  To show my appreciation, it's time for my second annual. . .
For this giveaway, YOU get to pick your prize.  I will be using Rafflecopter to select one lucky winner who will get a $15.00 gift card to one of the stores listed.  The giveaway ends at midnight on Thursday, August 8th ~ good luck.

Now that I'm back it's time for me to link up with two of my favorite linky parties.  Today the super sweet Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching is back with her weekly linky Five for Friday.
Once again I am going to rock this party the way Michelle always does. . . I'm gonna roll these pictures out ~ hashtag style.

I am also linking up today with the one and only Farley for her Currently linky party.  Here is what I was currently up to last night before I fell asleep on the couch with my laptop literally ON my lap.

I love that Farley sponsors this linky every month.  Currently in a cool way has become a journal for my life each month. When I went back and read my post from last year (click here) it was neat to see what I was up to 364 days ago.  If you haven't looked back at your Currently posts in awhile, take a minute to do so.

Now for my back to school must haves:
# 1  I have said it before and I will say it again, my friends are the best. My life sometimes can be a hot mess of nonsense and I am so incredible lucky to have such a great support system surrounding me.
# 2  See picture above ~ Thank you Sam's.
# 3  Comfy shoes has not been checked off the list for this year yet but they are an essential for me especially for the first few weeks of school since my feet go into withdrawal from not being able to wear my Nike flip flops.

So there you have it, a brief look into my life.  Well I'm off to pretend like I am getting work done for school but I'll probably just procrastinate a little bit more.
SHINE on everyone!

SHINE on everyone.

Today is the official FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!! I found out through Instagram this week that some stores already have their Fall and Christmas decorations on display but that is a whole different post. I am now officially on Summer vacation. . . can I get a woop, woop??!! My last day at school was on June 5th but I've been teaching a PD workshop for the past two weeks so I've still been in what my friend calls "teacher mode".  Today that came to an end, my alarms clocks are off, and my break is beginning.  With all of this time on my hands I actually can join up today with Kacey of Doodle Bugs Teaching for her party Five for Friday and I'm posting ON FRIDAY.
This week all of my pictures are from the SEA Lab workshop that I was teaching with these great ladies.  Every summer we get to work together and even though I am one of the facilitators, I always come away with some great new teaching tips.  I'll be posting about this workshop soon.
Here are my five pictures from SEA Lab this week.  Once again I'm rockin' this party the way Michelle from Apples and ABC's would ~ we're rolling these pictures out hashtag style.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Super Hero Saturday.  All summer long I will be posting about some of my favorite bloggers. If you would like to see my previous posts click HERE and HERE and  HERE.  I hope to see you on Saturday. Well I'm off to enjoy my first day of freedom. SHINE on everyone.
Today I bring you Picture-Pa-Looza.  I'm posting all of my pictures from the 12th of the month to go along with my 12 on the 12th Linky Party.
I am also linking up with the Kacey from Doodlebugs teaching for Five for Friday.
Since I have a bunch of pictures to post I am going to rock this party the way that Michelle from Apples and ABC's would ~ hashtag style.

So there you have 12 random pictures from the 12th of the month.

Most of these pictures where taken during the SEA lab workshop.  This has been such a FANTASTIC experience and I promise to post about it soon.  During our debriefing session on Wednesday I discussed where I find many of my ideas for the classroom ~ Pinterest, Instagram and blogs.  When one of the teachers asked me to name some of my favorite blogs I hesitated because that's like asking me to pick my favorite Sting song ~ ummmmm trust me. . . we'd be here all night.  So in an effort to shine a light on some of my all time FAVORITE blogs, I'm bringing back Super Hero Saturday.  Be sure to swing by this summer to read about some of my all time favorite bloggers. If you would like to read some of my past posts click HERE and HERE and HERE.  Hope to see you next Saturday. Well I'm off to plan for SEA Lab. SHINE on everyone.
Well my feet hurt, my back hurts, my laundry is overflowing, I have papers piled all over my living room, I haven't posted in weeks and I've BARELY been on Pinterest that usually means one of two things.  Number one, it's the beginning of the school year or number two, it's the end of the school year.     Well as we all know it's the end of the year. . . can I get a WOOP, WOOP???!!???
Truth be told you would not catch me in a bikini but this card always cracks me up.  I am down to only three days left in the year.  Monday I have my parents coming in, Tuesday is my last day with students and Wednesday is my post planning day. Between now and Wednesday I have to make a movie, finish my end of the year gifts for my kids, write thank you cards to parents, enter grades, do my report cards, fix my cums, prepare for a workshop I'm teaching, and pack up my room.  WHEW, this is going to be CRAZY so I'm just popping in real quick to link up with one of my favorite parties.  Time for Five for Friday hosted by Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching.
Since I don't have that much time tonight I am going to post these picture the way Michelle from Apples and ABC's would ~ we are rocking this party hashtag style.

Time for me to link up with Kacey of Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday party (Saturday edition).
This week all of my pictures are based on my new OBSESSION. . . Instagram.
1.  My curiosity was tweeked when I saw this post from one of my Super Heros (click here for previous post) Michelle from Apples and ABC's.  If Michelle, Rachelle and Natalie were all on board I knew I had to check this Instagram thing out.
2.  Over lunch one of my friends showed me how all of this hashtaging, following, picture uploading world worked ~ THANKS JULIE.
3.  Tuesday morning. . . THE OBSESSION BEGINS!!!  Before leaving for work I made my account and dived on in to this new crazy world.  Here is the first picture I posted ~ FYI the first bell rings at 7:50 so I was SUPER late.
4.  Two of my former students came by to give me a teacher appreciation gift.  When I took out my phone to snap a picture they saw my Instagram app.  Both of their eyes bugged out and one of them said with TOTAL shock . . . "You're on Instagram???!!??" When I said yes they both agreed that was pretty cool since they both have account too.  (Thanks Michelle for making me look cool to fourth graders).
5.  This is my favorite picture from the week.  Here is a collage I posted on Instagram of just some of the treats I received this week for teacher appreciation week. My current students, former students, PTA, and administrators showered me with food, flowers, cards, balloons, candy, jewelry, presents, and gift certificates. This has been a CRAZY CRAZY year for me and this week helped me to remember that even through all of this craziness, I am truly blessed.

If you would like to follow me on Instagram try clicking this link here #simpsonsuperstars. If that doesn't work just search for SimpsonSuperstars and you'll find me there.  I would love to take a peek into your life too.

Speaking of peeking into each others worlds Sunday is the 12th of the month so it's time for my monthly linky party 12 on the 12th. Thanks again to Kacey for coming up with this great idea.

This month I want to shake things up again so I'm giving you three options for the party.

OPTION 1:  Grab your camera and take 12 random pictures from your day on the 12th of the month to post and share with blogland.

OPTION 2: Post 12 pictures on Instagram from your day using the hashtag #12 on the 12th linky. Remember, don't add spaces and be sure to add the word linky to connect with teachers.

OPTION 3:  Time for a little Spring Cleaning.  Post 12 pictures of whatever you want to from any day, any month any year.  Your pictures can be school related or personal it's up to you.  I take pictures all the time that I want to use on my blog but for some reason or another, they never get posted.  Last month I used this party to show you some of these random pictures so that I could do a little cleaning of my picture files.

So there you have it, pick the option that is best for you and come back on Sunday afternoon to link up.  Well I'm off to write thank you cards for my students.  SHINE on everyone.
